Where To Start:
     Medline Plus:  This site brings together information from the 
                               National Library of Medicine (NLM), the 
                               National Institutes of Health (NIH), 
                               CDC and other agencies, and health-related organizations such as the 
                               World Health Organization.

     DMOZ - the Open Directory Project:  DMOZ is the largest, most comprehensive human- 

     edited directory of the Web.


Humanitarian Organizations:
      Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation:  Founded by Bill and Melinda Gates, the primary aims of the    
      foundation are, globally, to enhance healthcare and reduce extreme poverty, and in America, to expand 
      educational opportunities and access to information technology. 
    
     Carter Center:  The Carter Center, in partnership with Emory University, is guided by a 
      fundamental commitment to human rights and the alleviation of human suffering. It seeks to 
      prevent and resolve conflicts, enhance freedom and democracy, and improve health.

     UNICEF:  United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is a United Nations Program headquartered in New 
       York that provides long-term humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing 
       countries.
